I normally don’t post anything personal and use my blog, Twitter and my other 5,000 social media platforms (sarcasm) to try and sell books. It’s kind of what authors do. Tonight though, as I sit here listening to Richard Wagner with very little sleep, my kids are on my mind. McKenzie and Dawson, or, as I like to call them, C3PO and R2D2. Again, it’s what scifi authors do. Anyway, I absolutely love these two.
As I sat here scrolling through my old blog posts tonight and smiling as I remembered the moments I wrote each of them, I thought it would be cool to blog about my kids. Maybe one day they’ll scroll through and find it. Hopefully I’m still here to watch them grow up and make great life choices (like watching Battlestar Galactica and cheering for the NY Yankees), but in the event that I’m not, it’s pretty cool to think they might find this one day.
Kiddos, you are absolutely the light of my life. As much as I enjoy the handful of friends I trust and as truly amazing as your mom is, you two make life worth living. I love you both! Daddy needs sleep now and it’s sure to be followed by coffee in the morning. I can only hope that I’ll be met with hugs tomorrow morning, as usual, and that the tooth fairy didn’t accidentally leave a trail of glitter leading back to the spot where mom and I hide the glitter stash.
